European Ferrari Dealerships Now Accept Bitcoin, Revolutionizing The Automotive Payment Landscape

Ferrari, a luxury vehicle manufacturer, is moving quickly, offering its European dealers the ability to purchase with Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies this month. after an effective launch in the US the previous year. By the end of 2024, the Italian manufacturer plans to expand its innovative payment system to additional international dealers. The aim is to broaden the system’s reach and impact globally.


Ferrari has effectively integrated cryptocurrency assets, such as DOGE since 2023, to fulfil the demands of its high-profile clients, keeping it ahead of the curve while a significant portion of blue-chip firms are still hesitant to fully dive into the field due to its volatility. To meet the changing demands of its well-to-do and tech-savvy clientele, the company chose to relocate to Europe.

“To support dealers in better addressing the evolving needs of its clients, the company is expanding into the European market following the successful launch of this alternative payment system in the United States less than a year ago,” the corporation said in a statement to Reuters. The majority of its dealers in the area, it continued, had either already implemented the new payment system or were in the process of doing so.

Ferrari and BitPay have partnered to protect Ferrari’s customers from market volatility. In accordance with the agreement, BitPay will, on behalf of Ferrari’s dealers, promptly convert cryptocurrency payments into fiat money. Ferrari’s faith in the stability and prospects of digital currency is evident in the expansion.

Ferrari Leads in Bitcoin Adoption Among Luxury Brands

However, Tesla banned Bitcoin because of mining-related environmental issues. When the automaker began to accept Bitcoin as payment for its cars in early 2021, it made news. But in case mining becomes more viable, CEO Elon Musk made a suggestion that Bitcoin transactions might resume.

Although they have expressed interest in the bitcoin market, other rivals such as Lamborghini, Porsche, BMW, and others have not taken major steps to accept cryptocurrencies as payment for their vehicles on a wide scale.
