Krishna Okhandiar, who started Remilia and Milady and is known by many as Charlotte Fang, says someone hacked into his accounts. They moved a bunch of Ether and NFTs to another wallet that’s cashing out assets.
Dumpster DAO, one of the users, first noticed something fishy. They shared a screenshot where Okhandiar said he felt “drained” and dropped a link. This link led to an address getting assets from wallets connected to Remilia.
Remilia, the Milady Maker NFT group, got hit financially because of Bonkler, an experimental finance art project they started in April 2023. Fang announced this.
The blockchain shows that this address sold many NFTs tied to Milady, even the staked ones, and sent $1 million Ether to another address. It still has almost $1 million in Ether and some other tokens.
Though we’re not exactly sure how they did it, Peckshield, a company that keeps blockchains safe, noticed something fishy. They found a transaction from the Remilia treasury wallet to the one involved in the theft. This was all explained in a post on X.
Remilia Corporation Cyber Attack
In Sept 2023, Charlotte Fang went on X social platform (once known as Twitter) to say that someone in the Milady world moved about $1 million in fees from Remilia Corporation. Fang said the attacker took control of three X accounts, like Miladymaker and Remilionaire, while Remiliacorp couldn’t get in.
In 2021, Fang made Milady, a bunch of 10,000 anime profile picture NFTs. In May 2023, Elon Musk, the Tesla CEO, gave a thumbs-up to Milady NFTs and shared a meme using its images. Moreover, this action caused a quick rise in the lowest price of a Milady NFT, shooting from 3.8 Ether to 7.8 ETH.
Hacking and scams are getting worse in crypto, especially for DeFi apps. In 2023, $1.8 billion was swiped by hackers and scammers. A report by Immunefi on Dec. 28 says 17% of that came from the North Korean Lazarus Group. In Feb 2024 alone, ten hacks took $65 million, almost all of the stolen money.
