David Schwartz, Ripple’s chief technology officer and XRP Ledger co-founder, has once again criticized Quora’s use of AI. He’s not generally happy with AI-generated content, and this isn’t the first time he’s criticized the popular website.
Schwartz points out problems with AI-created content on Quora, a well-known question-and-answer site that many people visit daily.
“High-quality AI-generated questions, as usual. Keep up the good work, @Quora,” Schwartz tweeted sarcastically. He was responding to several questions made by Quora’s AI, including “What happens to the taxes you pay if you lose your job?”
This follows a similar post-Schwartz made on X three weeks ago. He said, “Quora is littered with official AI-generated slop.” He even shared pictures of AI-made questions from the site to prove his point.
Schwartz isn’t alone in criticizing AI. Two other famous figures have recently spoken out against AI and ChatGPT. Nassim Nicholas Taleb, who wrote “The Black Swan,” and Edward Snowden, the well-known U.S. whistleblower and former NSA employee, have both voiced concerns.
Ripple CTO Stirs Debate on AI-Generated Content Quality
The Ripple CTO’s comments highlight a growing debate about AI-generated content. As more websites and platforms use AI to create material, questions arise about quality, accuracy, and the value of human-created content.
Schwartz’s repeated criticism of Quora suggests he sees a real problem with the site’s use of AI. His position as a tech leader in the cryptocurrency world gives weight to his opinions on digital technologies.
As AI becomes more common in content creation, we can expect more discussions about its pros and cons. Tech leaders like Schwartz will likely continue to speak out, shaping the conversation about AI’s role in our online world.
The debate around AI-generated content is far from over, and Schwartz’s comments show that even within the tech industry, there’s no clear consensus on the best way forward.
